The first day, Dudu was mostly sleeping. With my friend Franka and a fork we went to chase worms in the yard... and found two ridiculous small lombrics! It was clear i would have to buy some worms. Franka went to get some maggots and we put 3 of them in his bill.
If you have to do this: press gently on the base of the bill, the bird will open it. Never tried to open the bill from the top, it could break and that is really bad... My son found another method: putting the hand over his head, the bird react by turning his head up and opening the bill, then you have to be fast and efficient and let fall the worm inside at the right moment!!! You can give water to your bird with a springe - of course with no needle, hey! -
